Fire Safety Trainers

As part of our continued expansion, Apex Fire Ltd is recruiting Professional Tutors/Trainers to join our team in delivering training courses in Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment and Occupational First Aid in the Connaught, Leinster and Munster areas.

Essential Criteria

  • A recognised training qualification (i.e. QQI/FETAC Train the Trainer Level 6 / Health and Safety at Work Level 5)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good knowledge of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Fire Services Acts 1981 & 2003
  • Good knowledge of evacuation procedures
  • Fluent in English
  • Applicants must supply suitable character references, have Garda Clearance or will pass Garda Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Organise and co-ordinate the day-to day running of training courses
  • Deliver classroom based training
  • Conduct practical demonstrations
  • Prepare course material
  • Arrange the learning environment to maximize the learning experience and provide a safe learning environment
  • Review and adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of individual customers and/or groups
  • Assist in the development and design of new and existing courses as required
  • Support learners
  • Other tasks as delegated

Fire Alarm & Fire Extinguisher Technician

We have a vacancy for A Dual Fire Alarm/Fire Extinguisher Technician to cover the Dublin Area. The Dual technician will be responsible for installation, commissioning and servicing of fire extinguishers/ fire alarms, intruder alert CCTV & access control systems as well as fault finding and carrying out necessary repairs, completing reports and paperwork relating to all servicing, and call-out activity.

Our Client base ranges from multinational and state bodies to small sole trading businesses with each customer sharing the benefits of our knowledge and expertise. All our service technicians are fully certified and expert in their field. The successful Dual Technician will have a minimum of two year’s relevant experience in the electronic fire & security industry and have a good geographical knowledge of Dublin.

Candidates must possess the following essential criteria:

  • Maths & English to Leaving Cert/GCSE (or equivalent) standard
  • A recognised qualification in electrical/electronic or security based subject e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC etc.
  • Full Irish Driving Licence
  • Flexibility to work overtime and respond to out of hours emergency call-outs if required due to the nature of the role
  • Proficient in MS office & other software programs
  • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in electronic fire & security systems &/or electrical background.
  • Familiar with & ability to demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of products within the fire & security industry.
  • Applicants must have the ability to work on their own initiative & as part of a team.
  • Applicants must supply suitable character references, have Garda Clearance or will pass Garda Clearance

Desirable criteria include:

  • Construction skills registered
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good presentation (ensuring company vehicle, uniform and paperwork promote a professional image)
  • Knowledge of relevant British, Irish & European Standards and all relevant codes of practice.
  • Valid Safe Pass & Manual Handling certificates
